Terrarium Computer Desk… 1 Year Later
The Beginning
Just under a year ago, I released a video where I made a computer desk. This wasn’t just any computer desk though. This desk was built exclusively from reclaimed materials and features a large, forest-themed terrarium. As I’m writing this, the video has amassed 1.8 million views. I’m ecstatic that the video did well, but it wasn’t without critique or skepticism from some viewers.
“Is this viable as a long-term piece?”
“How will the plants survive?”
“Will the live edge cut up your arms?”
Etc. I try not to look at the comments after the first few days for my own well-being, but I had to for this one. When I saw how many reoccurring questions there were, I knew I had to make an update video. I wanted to demystify the piece.
The Update
I’m pleased to say that after a year of constant use, the terrarium is still going strong! This is honestly one of my favorite pieces to date and is something I get to enjoy daily. I spend a lot of time at the computer and this is a great way to stay connected with nature during the process.
I could go into all of the specifics, but I think the update video tells the story best. Check it out and let me know what you think about it in the comments!
